I could have started a facebook page, which would probably have been more fun because of more interaction. But there are a lot of facebook pages, and both me and my fellow admin are too busy to post as regularly as is required of a facebook page admin.
And this blog serves a unique function: hosting pony pics. Facebook and deviantart pictures don't wind up in google image searches like blogger images do, so as I see it we're doing the community a service ;p
